1. The fidelity of this new pressing is not true to the original. I purchased this for a "clean" companion to my original. Clipping during loud passages is unacceptable ESPECIALLY where none existed on the original. Sorry. I Am glad and sing the praises for keeping J. J. and Kai available to an up and coming generation of trombone players/5(46).

5. Contains the complete original LP the Great Kai & J.J., one of the best conjunct efforts of Jay Jay Johnson and Kai Winding. Going, Gong!" were composed for this album and are quite a hoot. Added to my collection of a thousand or so vinyl records, it reaffirms my belief that the monstrositys now passing as "state of the art" music.

8. The famous 50s team of JJ Johnson and Kai Winding are reunited strongly here – after working alone for several years on their own projects! The groove here is a bit more open and less arranged than some of the pair's earlier projects – mostly just two trombones in the lead, soloing separately, with backing from a rhythm trio – split into two for each half of the album, with Bill Evans.
